
Periodontist Dr Aya Alali
BDS, MPhil, DClinDent (Melb)
Dr. Alali completed her specialist training in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the University of Melbourne in 2024, following the completion of a Masters degree in Implant Surface Modification at the University of Queensland in 2022. Her research explored innovative approaches to enhancing the biological performance of implant surfaces to improve integration and long-term outcomes.
Originally graduating in 2014 from the Jordan University of Science and Technology, Dr. Alali practiced as a general dentist before undertaking further academic and specialist qualifications.
She has contributed significantly to the field through four peer-reviewed publications, as a contributing author to the textbook Regenerative Approaches in Periodontics and she presented at EuroPerio in Copenhagen in 2022.
Dr. Alali’s clinical interests include the prevention, diagnosis, and management of periodontal diseases, crown lengthening procedures, and dental implant rehabilitation.
Dr Aya Alali is a committee member of the Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS) – Victoria Branch, and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP), the Australian Dental Association (ADA), the Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), and the International Team for Implantology (ITI). She regularly attends national and international seminars and conferences to remain up to date with the latest advances in Periodontics and implant dentistry.
Outside the clinic, Aya enjoys cooking dishes from a variety of cuisines and hiking along scenic trails. She has a very friendly and approachable manner and takes time to communicate with all her patients.
